
Prof. Dr. Thomas Thiede LL.M.
Thomas Thiede specialises in advising and representing clients in German and European antitrust law, commercial and corporate law, as well as compliance matters. His practice focuses on assisting companies in merger control proceedings before antitrust authorities, cartel fine proceedings, defence and assertion of claims for antitrust damages, drafting contracts and distribution systems compliant with antitrust law, and providing general antitrust advice.
Another central focus of his work is compliance advice, in particular the design, implementation and monitoring of compliance programmes, conducting internal investigations, preventive compliance management, and providing guidance on responding to compliance incidents.
His legal practice also includes representation and out-of-court advice in commercial and corporate law matters, especially corporate transactions. Due to his extensive international experience, he is regularly consulted on cross-border matters and the drafting of English-language contracts.
Thomas Thiede is an honorary professor at the Karl-Franzens University in Graz. He is the author of → numerous books and articles, in particular on antitrust law and international private and procedural law, editor of the commentary by Soergel on the German Civil Code, the practical commentary by Schwimann/Kodek on the German Civil Code. He is also a permanent contributor to NZG – Neue Zeitschrift für Gesellschaftsrecht and a member of the editorial board of EuZW – Europäische Zeitschrift für Wirtschaftsrecht, both published by C.H. Beck.
